About me
At Yoga with Cyndy, we believe that yoga is a vehicle to live your life to your fullest potential physically, mentally and emotionally.
Yoga with Cyndy believes that yoga in its purest form should be available to all people regardless of age, shape, size, race, sexual orientation or financial status. We share the teachings and benefits of yoga to all who desire to maintain a consistent yoga practice in order to maintain a healthy physical lifestyle and mental and emotional peace in a chaotic and constantly-changing world.
Yoga with Cyndy is a community of individuals who participate at their own pace, a place for those who want to love, learn, grow and flow personally-yet-together. We are a safe space and welcome people of all ages, shapes and fitness levels to our in-person classes and workshops, destination retreats, seasonal beach classes and live and on-demand online classes.
We specialize in Curvy Yoga - a highly individualized process for you to bring both yoga and body acceptance into your life in regular, doable ways. We focus on “know yourself” rather than “fix yourself”
In our yoga classes, we focus on creating space for your body to speak.
We believe that the more space you create to meet your total body where it is in the moment, the easier and more joyful it becomes to take care of yourself in lasting, sustainable ways off your mat.
If you think you think you are too fat, too old, not flexible enough, don’t “look” like someone who does yoga or are working with sore joints or limited mobility, then know you are welcomed here.
In our yoga classes, your body is always right and the pose changes to meet your needs; we don’t change our bodies to meet the pose.
Our mission
Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where all can practice yoga in a welcoming, safe, body-positive no-judgment zone. We celebrate the miracle of the human body and spirit and strive to deliver a first-class experience in our supportive, upbeat and diverse community.

Every Person Feels SupportedItem Link List Item 3
Everyone comes to yoga for their own personal reasons. For some people yoga is a form of physical exercise. For others, the mental benefits are what attracts them to a yoga practice. Some enjoy the energy and camaraderie of group classes, while others seek out an individualized yoga path. Wherever you are on your yoga journey, you are supported 100% and we strive for you to be able to look back on your experience with and feel you received heartfelt attention and support.
Meet Cyndy
Cyndy is the inspired founder of Yoga with Cyndy. She is a Curvy Yogini, retreat leader, life coach, entrepreneur, and artist. She is the former host of "Talking Yoga" on MindBodyRadio.com, and a devoted lover of life and all things glitter and sparkly. She loves living her passion and sharing the treasures of yoga with women, specifically curvy women.
A former "corporate girl" turned yogi entrepreneur, Cyndy is a dedicated Certified Yoga Teacher, and has devoted thousands of hours to studying, learning and practicing yoga with some of the world’s greatest master spiritual teachers in Thailand, Bali, Costa Rica, Africa, and beyond. Through her live and online yoga classes, workshops and destination retreats, she has helped transformed the lives of over a thousand students.
She first discovered Yoga in 2002 and was instantly hooked. The physical emotional and spiritual upgrades she has experienced with yoga are limitless. Cyndy credits the physical benefits of yoga for cutting her recovery time in half from knee surgery in 2004 and credits the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga for guiding her through treatment for Stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2007. After achieving full remission, Cyndy rededicated herself to the practice of yoga and, in May 2017, she received her 200-hour teaching certificate from Blooming Lotus Yoga, a Yoga Alliance registered school, in Bali under the guidance of Lily Goncalves and Ramananda Mayi.
In 2020, Cyndy completed her Curvy Yogi training under the guidance of Anna Guest-Jelley and is currently completing her 300-hour yoga training with Brett Larkin.
Cyndy received a Bachelor of Arts in American Literature from Hofstra University and her MBA in Management and Leadership from Dowling College.
In addition to yoga and traveling, Cyndy enjoys painting and ballroom dancing.
She lives in Long Island, New York with her husband, Chris.
