Reclaim Your Radiance Under the Light of the Moon

There’s something undeniably powerful about the full moon. It illuminates the night sky with a quiet, knowing presence — and for women navigating midlife, it can offer something we often forget we need: a chance to pause, reflect, release, and begin again.
For many of us, midlife comes with a strange combination of invisibility and awakening. Our bodies shift. Our roles evolve. The noise of the world tells us to shrink, but our souls? They’re ready to expand.
That’s where ritual comes in — especially during the full moon.
🌕 Why the Full Moon Matters (Especially Now)
The full moon has long been seen as a time of peak energy, heightened intuition, and emotional release. In the yogic tradition, it represents a time to let go of what no longer serves you so you can make space for what’s meant for you.
For women in midlife, this can be especially healing.
Because maybe you're not just releasing stress.
Maybe you're releasing unrealistic expectations.
Old versions of yourself.
Guilt for putting yourself first.
Grief for who you were — and grace for who you’re becoming.
🧘♀️ Full Moon Yoga Ritual for Midlife Women
You don’t need a perfectly curated altar or hours of time. All you need is a space to breathe, a little intention, and your willingness to show up.
Here’s a simple yet powerful ritual you can try during the next full moon — whether you join me at the beach or practice at home.
1. Create a Sacred Space
Find a quiet spot — ideally outdoors, under the moonlight. But if you’re inside, dim the lights, light a candle, and let your space reflect how you want to feel.
Bring your yoga mat, journal, cozy layers, and anything meaningful: a crystal, a photograph, a favorite tea.
2. Ground with Gentle Movement
Begin with a few minutes of slow, intuitive movement. Think: cat-cow, seated twists, forward folds. The goal isn’t to “work out” — it’s to tune in.
Let your breath guide you. Let go of needing to get it “right.”
If you’re practicing with me in person, we’ll flow together under the stars — gentle, circular, and connected to the energy of the moon.
3. Practice Breathwork for Clarity
Try three-part breath (dirga pranayama) or simple box breathing to help calm your nervous system and shift your energy inward.
Breathe in for 4… hold for 4… exhale for 4… hold for 4. Repeat as needed.
This helps release stagnant energy and brings you back to your body.
4. Journal: What Am I Ready to Release?
Under the full moon, your inner voice gets louder — if you’re willing to listen.
Ask yourself:
- What am I holding onto that’s no longer serving me?
- What version of myself am I ready to let go of?
- Where am I ready to reclaim my power?
You don’t need perfect answers. You just need truth.
5. Seal it with Stillness
End your ritual with a few minutes of savasana, legs up the wall, or simply lying on the earth, gazing up at the moon.
Allow yourself to feel supported. Safe. Seen.
No more striving. Just being.

Final Thoughts: You Are the Ritual
You don’t need to become someone else. You don’t need to earn your rest. You don’t need to wait for permission to be whole.
You are already worthy. Already powerful. Already enough.
Sometimes, it just takes a full moon, a breath, and a soft return to yourself to remember that.
